  Teddy kissed me and left. The room was suddenly empty, a void, but I kept holding the medallion and sliding the chain back and forth against my neck. Teddy still felt close to me. He may not have known it, but that was what gave me immediate strength. That was what was infinitely more valuable than precious gold.
